It was definitely a hot film but when compared to the content of other potboilers, the profit of Jab We Met was low. But who wants to know the Box Office of Mughal-e-Azam, Pyasa, or Silsila? There are certain movies which are made ahead of times and their charm crosses the boundaries of time easily. Jab We Met is one of those rare movies which would always make you more confident about yourself, make you enjoy life, urge you to shed your inhibitions, and finally teach you to love yourself to the fullest.

The most interesting fact about this movie is that nobody expected anything from this movie. Imtiaz Ali was a flop director, Kareena & Shahid had a string of historic flops in their career. But this movie made them emerge from the ashes. Till today the fashion and dialogues of this movie are followed with pride.

In October 2018 this movie would celebrate its 11th anniversary. Let’s revise some major life lessons taught by this classic movie and refine our life once again.

What Do You Require?

Mango – 1

Lebanese Cucumber – 1 sliced

Ginger – 1 tsp grated

Fish Fillets – 200 gm

Capsicum (Red or Green or Yellow) – ½ in thin slices

Ripe Mango – 1

Coriander – 1 tsp finely chopped

Olive Oil – 2 tsp

Sweet Chili Sauce – 1 tsp

Lemon Juice – 2 tsp

Light Soya Sauce – 1 tsp

How To Make It?

Peel the ripe mango first and cut into thin slices. Follow the same with capsicum and cucumber. Place them together in a bowl and toss well.

In another bowl prepare the dressing by mixing light soya sauce, sweet chili sauce, lemon juice, coriander, and ginger.

Preheat a griller or barbecue to cook the fish. Apply some olive oil on the fish fillets and cook both the sides for 4-5 minutes.

Check if cooked or not.

Place some crunchy veggies on a serving dish and place the cooked fish fillets on it and finally apply the dressing.

Tuna – 200 gm

Ripe Mango – 1 diced into small pieces

Olive Oil – 1 or 2 tsp

Coriander – 1 bunch finely chopped

Lemon Juice – ½ or 1 tsp

Chili Sauce – 1 tsp

Onion – 2 tsp finely chopped

How To Make It?

Heat the olive oil in a pan or over a barbecue to cook the tuna fish. Cook both the sides of the fish very well for 4-5 minutes.

In a small bowl mix coriander, chili sauce, onion, lemon juice. Then add the diced mangoes and toss it well.

Coriander Seeds – 2 tsp

Salt n Pepper – As per taste

Sugar – 1 tsp

Coriander – ½ to 1 tsp finely chopped

Olive Oil – 1 tsp

How To Make It?

Cook mustard and coriander seeds in a wok. Stir occasionally for 2-3 minutes until they start popping. Now add cumin seeds and cook for another 2 minutes. There would be a lovely aroma coming out from the spices.

Add vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, and 1 cup of water in it. Let it simmer for some time and stir occasionally. Make sure the sugar and salt completely dissolve.

Pour this vinegar mixture on the thinly sliced onions and keep at room temperature for some time. Once completely cooled, refrigerate it for 1 hour.

Now in a large bowl, arrange the tomatoes and cucumber and spread the dressing. Finally, add the coriander and enjoy this crunchy treat!
