So, after impressing the audience with “Orange Is The New Black” & “House Of Cards”, it is time for that much-awaited Indian original series on Netflix. Based on the novel of Vikram Chandra, “Sacred Games”, this series of the same name has managed to garner scrupulous reviews from people. It has become like a rage among people and the audience simply cannot wait for the next season to revive. This is an 8 episodes show of 40 minutes each that has left everyone in awe. In case, you belong to that minority group who still haven’t found time to watch this epic show, I have reasons for you to coerce you to watch it right away.

  1. The First Jolt

That character of Nawazuddin saying “Bhagwaan ko maante ho?” (Do you believe in God?) & “Kabhi Kabhi lagta hai apun hi bhagwaan hai” (Sometimes I feel, I am the God) – gives you a certain shock for sure! No one has ever heard of such bold, dynamic, raw, & flabbergasting dialogues and that too on the first episode. In that terms, this series can be compared to Game of Thrones – the first episode is a bit hard to understand but once you survive that, the rest of the journey is smooth, engrossing, and enjoyable.

  1. Multidimensional Plots & Psychologies
Multidimensional Plots & Psychologies

Sacred Games start with a threat call to a Police Officer that if he can save Mumbai, then listen to my story. But this series is not only about saving Mumbai, but it also has too many underlying plots inside it. You will come across different stories and characters of different psychologies and flavors which add to your pure entertainment.

  1. Gripping Characters
Gripping Characters

This series is not only about the lead characters like Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui – who are definitely big names now. But Sacred Games is also a lot about the rest of the characters. Each and every character would leave a mark on your mind be it the Police Constable katekar or Jitendra Joshi, Bunty or Jatin Sarna, Parulekar or Neeraj Kabi, & Cuckoo or Kubra Sait. A special mention has to be Rajshree Deshpande who played Subhadra and Shalini Vatsa who played Kanta Bai. These are the two women who keep Ganesh Gaitonde, the lead character of Nawazuddin at a reality check. Varun Grover has done the character sketching brilliantly and the cast has done more than 100% justice to the given roles. You would simply rewind and watch again and again.

  1. Powerful Direction
Powerful Direction

An actor becomes powerful on screen for the hard work his/her director has done. The directors have the CV of “Gangs Of Wasseypur”, “Udaan”, “Satya”, “Dev.D”, “Lootera”, “Paanch”, “Black Friday”, “Trapped”, etc. So, undoubtedly, the show had to be that game changer. These mentioned movies are those handfuls which have changed the landscape of Indian cinema or gloriously presented India to the world platform and this time these two Anurag Kashyap & Vikramaditya Motwane have again done something for which the Indian audience would be forever thankful.

You would see the signature Anurag here with funny one-liners among the gangsters, witty fight or shootout sequences. And of course, the raw yet endearing use of Ma***C**d. There is the usual sex, ferocity, cuss words, nudity, and drugs. But nowhere you would feel these are unnecessary or crossing the line with context and that’s the true Anurag style. The softer tone of Sartaj Singh was directed by Motwane. Another signature of these directors is their eyes for detailing which is why you would feel satisfied with this series. So, the whole execution from storyboarding to acting, direction to editing – all are simply mind-blowing.

  1. Meaning Of The Name Of Episodes
Meaning Of The Name Of Episodes

One of the major highlights of Sacred Games is the interesting name of the episodes. All the names are taken from our great mythology and have a well-researched and deep connection with the content of each episode. For example, The first episode is “Ashwathama” – that Hindu legend who was cursed to suffer human life for 3000 years, in a way making him invincible. Ganesh Gaitonde utters that he is Ashwathama whose story won’t end till the story is over. He kills himself in the first episode but the story follows. Episode 4 is named “Brahmahatya” because Gaitonde is Brahmin himself but in his life, he does all those things that a Brahmin in Hindu won’t do like eating non-veg or killing people. Thus, he kills the Brahman inside him which led to this name. With the name of these episodes, you would learn many things not only about the plot but also about our mythology.

  1. The Never Seen Before Saif Ali Khan
The Never Seen Before Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan is in his biggest career low currently. With 7 films bombing back to back, he is clueless where things are going wrong. His choice of movies have definitely sharpened over the last few years but luck is not by his side with movies like Chef or Kalakaandi. But Sacred Games turned out to be a big-big achievement for him career-wise. He plays the role of Sartaj Singh who is an honest police officer who is aware of the dirty power games and corruption going around him in his department. He is not someone who would let go of moral standards and Saif Ali Khan convincingly pulls out this underdog cop role. This cop is going through an emotional jolt in his personal life too and that’s well narrated through his moves.

  1. Radhika Apte – When Charm & Grace Meets Aggression
Radhika Apte – When Charm & Grace Meets Aggression

She deserves some extra brownie points. Radhika Apte plays the role of Anjali Mathur who would not tolerate any non-sense at her workplace. She is a RAW agent and wants to prove a point that women in RAW are as good as their male counterpart on field. She is not happy to digest a desk job. That aggression on her eyes with a graceful body language is not to be forgotten at all. Radhika Apte deserves all the laurels for carting out Anjali Mathur with aplomb.

  1. The God Himself – Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Is there anything that this 5 feet 5 inches actor cannot do? After so many years of struggle in Bollywood, when we finally saw him in Wasseypur – he was like a revelation. He is truly a volcano of talent. The moviebuffs would always be thankful to Mr. Kashyap for introducing Nawaz to us. He plays Ganesh Gaitonde here – the notorious crime mafia who is up for no good. He goes missing for 16 years but revives with a powerfully spread web that may destroy Mumbai. The story begins in 2018 but Nawaz unfolds many roots of his Gaintonde character from the 80’s. We all know what a terrific performer he is and Sacred Games have just added another feather to his glorious crown. He is more ruthless than Faizal but has a calmer and a more calculative mind than him.

Just like any other Anurag Kashyap creation, this Sacred Games is also like a great addiction. Which you can watch over and over again without getting bored and tired. Because every time you may discover a new aspect to the characters, the nuances of acting, the brilliance of direction, etc. Another mention-worthy thing is the music of this TV series. Which has been made keeping the 80’s era in mind as the chunk of the story resides in that time. So, please watch Sacred Games now because this is the kind of TV series we all truly deserve!

What is the definition of Depression? Google says it is a feeling of severe despondency and dejection. As per the American Psychiatric Association, “Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home”. Do you feel like the one stated in quotes? If yes, then you got to do something about it.

Depression lies in that grey area which is a bit confusing. Living with depression requires a day-to-day management and to be able to do that, understanding depression is important. The treatment for depression, of course, would vary from one person to another. But many people suffering from depression have spoken about the ways in which encountering different situations, people and experiences through travel has allowed them to overcome depression in a natural way.

Endorphins and oxytocin – these two hormones play the major role that decides our moods. By traveling, endorphins and oxytocin are released in innumerable ways through different practices we encounter. Travel actually forces the brain to make use of these hormones to improve our mood and attitude. A survey was conducted that found traveling is a massive mood booster for people! Vacations, weekend short trips, long festive trips where people get time to look into nature, roam around with their beloved, and spend quality time with family – help to overcome depression.

Traveling may help you in ways you couldn’t have ever imagined.

Befriending Strangers

One of the common feelings of depression is to feel isolated most of the times. You feel like remaining aloof from the world and this is the place where negative thoughts crawl into your mind. Traveling, on the other hand, allows your mind to be more alert. You have to pay attention to what is happening around you because you are traveling which means you are away from the comforts and perks of your home. Unwillingly also you have to stop by and talk to a complete stranger because you have to know the correct way to the destination. When you are depressed, you simply want to minus people from your life – these people refer to your known sect of people. But while traveling when you see new faces around you, you may end up having a friendship of a lifetime with some!

This distraction from your regular life would give you an insight into a different world where people live differently. Listening to their stories, you may find your inner strength back!

Experience Yourself

Until and unless your limits are pushed or you try a bit more, you can never know your true worth. In depression, you always hold a feeling that you are not worthy enough. But with traveling, you can see your true potential and this building of self-esteem is very important. Suppose while traveling back from the sunset point at the hill station in the evening, the tyre of your car punctures and there is no way out but to spend the time atop the hills under the sky and stars. There may be some fear of unknown animals too! But you simply cannot escape this situation but you have to stick there and see the flip side. Just like others you if you go back to the hotel, you would miss experiencing yourself. Traveling would give you many such situations where you would have to push your limits or come out from your comfort zone, and these jerks off depression.

Inspiration Rushes Back

You may end up meeting someone who is in a bigger problem than you are! Every single person in this world faces some kind of issues and all are struggling in their own way to overcome that. A recent Bollywood movie named “Jia Aur Jia” portrayed something like that. Jia-1 was traveling in partnership with Jia-2. Jia-1 went on a trip to commit suicide and Jia-2 went to live the short life she has in hand (she was terminally ill, hardly 2 months of life she would live). When Jia-1 came to know this secret, she got her confidence back! You also might hear stories of your fellow passenger and get the inspiration back to your life. You may meet people from a 360-degree different lifestyle and that would lead to the exchange of ideas of a different level. Thus, meeting people would give you a completely different outlook!

The Big Picture

While you are depressed, your outlook becomes tilted and narrow because you are self-centered then. You are just concerned about your day-to-day life and your setbacks, loans, bills, failed relationships, etc. Now, at this point in time, you cannot evaluate yourself properly. But when you pull yourself away from this situation and travel, you tend to see the bigger picture. You can then see the world & its people and your situations from a different angle. That happens because you accumulate many experiences, stories of people, and these things help in curbing depression.

Healing Naturally

Nature is the storehouse of many powers. If you really want to come out of your depression, select the awe-inspiring places of the world like the Grand Canyon, Great Barrier Reef, Northern Lights, Santorini, Hagia Sophia, Cinque Terre, Hanging Gardens, The Great Wall Of China etc. Go for trekking or stay in an island, and talk with the nature. The universe has its own way of reaching out to you and answering all your questions. You will heal naturally and many research has also proved that going into the lap of nature is one of the best cures for depression.

Last but not least always remember that you are just the smallest of the small particle of this huge universe and now imagine if you are so tiny, how tiny your depression is? So, think at a larger scale and evaluate carefully. Every night wakes up to a new day and thus every depression would also find its solution. Just don’t give up – instead, pack your bags and experience yourself in a new way!

The author bio suggests that I am a cinephile and a foodie. Believe me, these are the two best things ever invented by human civilization. All I need for sustenance is food and entertainment – let there be chaos elsewhere! Now, when these two interests of mine come together, it leaves me in a perplexed state of mind – which one to love more?

What all you remember from a movie? The star actor? Comedians? Story? Dialogues? Clothes or jewelry? But when food becomes a character in a movie – things are really hard to choose. There’s a way of presenting food too in the movies. Sometimes, it is not an intrinsic part of the movie but the way an actor eats creates a craving in you. Remember how Ranveer Singh or Bittu in Band Baaja Baaraat was eating Bread Pakora with Shruti? And his Bread Pakora is so dear to him that he even swears on that! For that matter, the way Saurabh Shukla or Rishi Kapoor eat from their lavish plates in Jolly LLB and Shudh Desi Romance are also memorable!

Bollywood is more than a century old and it has given many memorable flicks which make us laugh and cry both. Here is a list of my favorite 6 Bollywood movies which left me with an endearing culinary experience.

Bawarchi (1972)
Bawarchi

A bawarchi is the Hindi name for cook or chef. It was a typical Hrishikesh Mukherjee movie with dollops of food in it. In a middle-class family where the brothers and sisters-in-law fight with each other over domestic issues of who spends how much and who works how much, suddenly a Bawarchi comes and changes everything. He is a chef with unique abilities to work non-stop all through the day and night. And his dishes are to die for. He can make cabbage taste like mutton! The united family enjoying their tasty meals is a sight to watch.

Cheeni Kum (2007)
Cheeni Kum

The best chefs of the world can say all the ingredients used in a dish along with the exact quantity of salt & sugar by smelling that dish once. They can also say for how long the rice has been cooked or for how long the bread has been baked. This movie was exactly like that where Mr. Ghasphoos or Amitabh Bachchan owns the best Indian restaurant in London named Spice 6. Food thus forms a huge part of this movie. He falls in love with the character of Tabu over a debate on Hyderabadi Zafrani Pulao. The film then condenses on normal daal-roti-chawal, brinjal curry, chicken kebabs, to the famous street foods of Delhi. An intense love story gifted by ace director R. Balki, this 2007 movie is still a food lover’s secret love.

Stanley Ka Dabba (2011)
Stanley Ka Dabba

Stanley Ka Dabba is one of the most heart-warming stories of this decade surely. Released in 2011, this movie garnered massive acclaims from each and every one. It narrated the story of an orphan child who works at a restaurant and gets abused & beaten by the owner of the restaurant, his own uncle. He is popular among his peers & teachers. Mr. Verma, the Hindi teacher of the school enters and the movie forges into something brutal. Mr. Verma is a glutton & phagomaniac who does not bring his own dabba either but lusts after everyone else’s, also stealing food on occasion. We see kadhi pakodas, samosas, bhindi, rajma, cakes, paneer, baingan bharta, etc. – many more to salivate!

You would experience a lust for food through Mr. Verma & to what extent he can go (rebuking or suspending a student for not bringing tiffin) for having food. You would also see how less food and more of love we need to stay happy in life!

English Vinglish (2012)
English Vinglish

Shashi, the entrepreneur knows to make the best motichoor ke laddoos and snacks for adding happiness to people’s lives. She also knows to make the best Rajma-Chawal & Parathas. She is the epitome of Goddess Lakshmi. The whole movie & its basic plot of “Is English so important?” runs on one side and on the parallel side are the lovely foods and sweets. In a PTM also, she talks about banana chips & murukku. She joins the English Speaking class and there also she becomes popular for her recipes! This feel-good movie would always remain special for the ghee-lathpath motichoor ke laddoos.

The Lunchbox (2013)
The Lunchbox

Directed by Ritesh Batra, this movie is touted as one of the best love stories of our generation. The love story blooms over dabba or lunchbox that is wrongly delivered. So, every morning you would find the housewife cooking and packing the food while having a chat about food with the lady staying upstairs. The love notes are exchanged through the lunch boxes and with each passing day, there are some new dishes, new stories shared, and a new love! A supporting character is shown chopping veggies on his office files while going back home in Mumbai local. Through Alu Gobhi, Matar Paneer, Daal Fry, Fried Rice, Raita, etc. – Nowhere this movie lost its connection with food!

Ki & Ka (2016)
Ki & Ka

In a mediocre way, this movie challenged or questioned many things that our society follows. Why cooking is associated with a woman? Why only a man should earn more than the woman to run the family? Why a woman is not given due respect and appreciation when she decorates her house or cooks food? Why the movie turned out to be different was the fact, all these questions were put up by the male lead who believes her housewife mom was no less than an artist. He marries the lady for whom making a cup of coffee is no less than rocket science. From fluffy Spanish omelet to spaghetti, healthy salads to Rajma Chawal, beaten coffee to cheesecakes, chicken tikka to daal fry – you would feel the aroma of food traveling from the screen to your room.

There are many such movies where you would find a nice presence of food through the characters who are either eating them or talking about them. Movies like Ramji Londonwaley, Chef, Duplicate, Dawat-E-Ishq, Hasee To Phasee, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, etc. are some foodgasm in motion for sure. Those who love movies & food both (like me) find a heavenly comfort in these movies. Watch these movies again (in case you have watched it before) and enjoy the lip-smacking experience again!

If you look for the meaning of the word ‘travel’ in the dictionary, it clearly says- to move or go from one place or point to another. But in actual, travel is not just limited to movement from one geographical location to another. It is a journey that brings you face to face with several challenges and gives you opportunities to discover who you are. Traveling let you explore new places, meet new people, and experience new traditions and cultures. It develops skills in you that you didn’t know you had, takes you on an unexplored adventure, and helps you develop a perspective of your own.

Imagine how wonderful life would be with a partner for whom traveling is a priority. You will get a companion who is always up for trying crazy things and of course, encourage you to save for your next possible trip. So if you are single and looking for your one true love, then date a girl who travels. She will always keep you on your toes and show the world you always imagined to witness in real life.

Here are a few convincing reasons to read and know why to date a girl who travels.

She Always Has New Stories to Tell

A girl who travels often always have a plethora of interesting and adventurous stories to share. Be it her backpacking trip from last summer or skydiving experience, there will be a number of fascinating accounts that she will keep recounting. There will never be a dull moment with her as she’s always planning her next trip or trying to get you to go on another trip.

She Is Not Materialistic

A girl who travels believes in exploring and creating unforgettable memories rather than collecting things. She knows that it is the precious moments that make life worthwhile and not the few silver coins that you are left with at the end. You don’t need to worry about buying her a fancy present or taking her to candlelight dinners at expensive restaurants. Traveling and spending quality time with you is something that she will always cherish with all her heart.

She Is Strong and Independent

A girl who has traveled around the world and explored new places by herself is capable of handling challenging situations in life on her own. She is confident, headstrong and knows that independence is the only way of being herself. A girl who travels often won’t be clingy or dependent on you for her happiness because she knows what she wants from life and how to achieve it.

She Loves Trying New and Exciting Things

A girl who travels is quite spontaneous and fun-loving. She is always up for a blast, be it going to someplace new or trying something for the first time that sounds fun and exciting. Will always nod yes for that last minute trip or river rafting with a group of friends that will double up the fun of whatever you are doing.

She Is Highly Adaptive

Travelling comes with its own perks and challenges. Like, you may end up taking the wrong path to your destination, miss flights, and have to use unhygienic restrooms or eat not-so-tasty food. You may feel discomfort at the moment, but it only helps you become more adaptable to the unexpected situations. So no matter how hard life gets for a girl who travels, she always handles it with a grin on her face.

She Knows Herself Well

Traveling helps you discover yourself. You may end up in situations that you have never experienced earlier, the way you react to such circumstances not only prepare you for the future but also gives a deep understanding of yourself. A girl who travels a lot is sure of herself and knows what she wants from life more than anybody else.

She Is Hard-Working, Problem Solver & Good at Managing Finances

A girl who travels takes up a couple of jobs to fund her trips. Being on the road for most of the time she runs into several problems which help her develop the abilities to find the perfect solutions for all of them. And speaking of financial management, not only she spends her money wisely but also keeps thinking of innovative ways to generate more funds for her future trips.

After reading all these reasons you would totally agree that dating a girl who travels is worth it. She will have a positive impact on your life and fill it with optimism and adventure!

Relationships are not like living in a rainbow land where everything goes as planned. Relationships are about getting through every situation of life together without giving up on each other. Life is too short to stay stuck in a toxic relationship. So, if you feel you are in one, you can either work upon improving it or move on. There is no point sitting around and resisting! Take charge of your own happiness.

Was your relationship all good in the beginning but it’s simply stressful now? If your being with your partner gives you stress and you can’t be yourself around them, you are probably in a toxic relationship.

What is a Toxic Relationship?

A relationship is supposed to make you feel happy and relaxed. If it does not, then you don’t have to be with that person. A toxic relationship is the one which makes you feel stressful, dumb, contaminates your self-esteem, and fills your heart with remorse and pain. A toxic relationship is the one where you feel emotionally drained and the constant fear of judgment creeps in when you are with them. It is very necessary to identify the signs of a toxic relationship because it can damage you in more ways than you think! Here are 10 signs of a toxic relationship:

1) Jealous in Every Sense
Jealous in Every Sense

Many times we ignore the signs of toxicity thinking it is pretty normal. Well, Jealousy is one of those signs. Being jealous in a relationship is normal, isn’t it? Some might even find it cute! But, there is a very thin line between jealousy and toxicity. If they are jealous of people who flirt with you, it is natural. But if they are jealous of every person who talks to you nicely and with the slightest of threat, they ask you to stop talking to them that is toxic! You’re a human too and can’t stop living your life for them. Your partner needs to trust you and your love.

2) Criticism & Comparison
Criticism & Comparison

You are never too good for them! All you’re ever going to hear is “Why don’t you dress up like her?” “Her boyfriend made this grand gesture for her, why don’t you ever do it?” or “You need to lose some weight, you look awful!”

Well if they criticize and compare you to other people then, they clearly don’t see you for who you are. They have an ideal image of you and want you to fit into that. This ain’t healthy!

3) Communication is a Big Deal
Communication is a Big Deal

Communication is the building block of a relationship. Being in a relationship with someone means that you can talk to them about anything and everything fearlessly. Isn’t that’s what significant other is supposed to do? Understand you? Well, if you can not talk to them without thinking or without the fear of being judged then you are definitely in a toxic relationship.

4) They Don’t Encourage You To Grow
They Don’t Encourage You To Grow

You grow a little every day. While you grow, you change in many ways. Someone who truly loves you will support you through those changes and hurdles of life, while your insecure partner will try to hold you back and become a hurdle in your personal growth. They will be jealous of your achievements, will not support your interest and always make you feel like you do not matter. They may often mock you & make fun of you!

5) Passive Aggressive Behavior
Passive Aggressive Behavior

This is the most commonly approved behaviour in relationships. Fighting isn’t a good thing but staying silent and dropping hints is even worse. If something is bothering you, talk to them about it than avoiding the conversation. This harms relationships the most. Your partner may feel unwanted. Ignorance isn’t bliss and tantrums aren’t fun.

6) Constant Fear of Break Up

Do you think it is worth being in a relationship where you constantly fear losing your partner? Being worried about losing the other person is not the sign of a healthy relationship. You may fear because they constantly threaten to break up with you, flirt with other people a lot or maybe you feel really unwanted. Either way, it is going to disturb your peace of mind and nothing is worth it!

7) Non-Stop Narcissism

People often masquerade narcissism as self-love. If your partner is always talking about themselves and hardly care about what’s happening with you, it ain’t a healthy relationship. Self-Love is a good thing. If you don’t love yourself, you can not expect someone else to love you. But, when you commit to the other person, you need to love them just as much as you love yourself because your significant other matters!

8) Constant Need of Being Perfect
Constant Need of Being Perfect

Everyone is mortified on their first date. We try to be perfect and try our best not to do or say anything stupid. It is okay! The problem is when you always try to be perfect around them. You hide your flaws all the time when you are around them. Have a constant fear of being judged and this makes you uncomfortable in being yourself around them. You need to be with someone who makes you feel comfortable so you can be yourself, with all the flaws! You need to let your guard down.

9) Competition & Scorecard
Competition & Scorecard

In a healthy relationship, your partner is going to listen to your problems and forgive & forget your mistakes. In a toxic relationship whenever you share your problems or achievements, your partner is going to compare it to their own. If you say “You had a really bad day at work”, instead of sympathizing or asking what happened they will start to make you feel that their day was worse. No matter what you say, they are just going to compete with you. Your partner may even have a scorecard of where they compare ‘who made more mistakes?’

You need to understand that it is a relationship and not an academic project!

10) Privacy? What Privacy?
Privacy? What Privacy?

Even when you are in a relationship, you are an individual and deserve some level of privacy. If your partner trusts you, they will respect your privacy. If you find your partner constantly checking your call logs, emails, text messages & social media inboxes then they definitely do not trust you. Everyone has a personal life and keeping a tab on your SO is a major sign of a toxic relationship. You are an adult and do not need a babysitter!

11) Restrictions
Restrictions

People always think it is okay to tell your partner what to do and what not to do. Reality check, it is not okay! Every individual has their own life and one can’t be restricting them from doing stuff. If you find your partner controlling your every move, asking you not to talk to people, giving up on things you enjoy & controlling everything you say, welcome to a classic toxic relationship.

12) You Are Simply Not Happy
You Are Simply Not Happy

If you don’t feel empowered and happy in a relationship then you aren’t with the right person. Your significant other is supposed to make you happy. You are supposed to become the better version of yourself with the person you love and, if you can’t then you have to find out why.

Every relationship has ups and downs. Relationships aren’t walking in the park on a sunny yet breezy day, they are about walking in the park in every season and protecting each other. Relationships aren’t all happy or all sad, balance is very important. It is very easy to land into a relationship but difficult to maintain one.

P.S. If you feel you are the toxic one in the relationship, you are not a bad person. You just belong with someone else. Let the other person go!

People often wonder what puts off a woman and makes her lose interest in a particular person. Ever wondered what makes a good guy? While physical attraction plays a great role but there’s a lot more going on in that head to pick out one guy for herself. Oftentimes, it’s the little things that make the most of the impact rather than some grand gestures. So, to go further and get that pretty woman for yourself, focus on the good to get rid of the bad.

Here are some of the deal breakers for a woman. Start making notes you boys!

Unhygienic Stud!

It doesn’t matter if you go to the gym, work-out, look good and all of that jazz but if you’re not hygienic then my boy, you’re definitely out of the game even before it starts!

Braggart!

Well, are you the one who keeps talking about yourself and your awesomeness? You really need to consider going back to school to learn what confidence and overconfidence actually mean? Stop bragging about your grand plans!

Ignorant

You DO NOT want to fall into this category. Ignoring your woman and being adamant about what to she has to do and what she needs to decide. Decide for yourself not for her. Don’t be a snob! You’re not right, not always! You can figure these ones out from a distance if you find them fighting over the “RIGHT” thing because they cannot be proven WRONG!

Baggage

Men with an awful schedule, life routine, messed up sleep timings or some weird family issues. They come with a baggage. A woman has to think real hard about how to talk to them or be with them. Generally, they aren’t worth the trouble! Move on, Darlings!

Male Chauvinist

Talking about these makes me feel eecky! They feel they’re the elite breed because they’re MEN! Well, guess what, we’re women. We’re elite but with brains (Something that you lack). If you disrespect a woman just because of the fact they’re women and all they could do is cook, give birth and die, you are, out of all, the worst one!

Wanderer

It isn’t about traveling. It’s about his eyes. The lecherous eyes that wander around and gleefully check out other women. What-a-shame! Definitely a turn-off.

Womanizer

We all know one or two. And they know all other women. All of them are their “Friends”.

They eye all types or women. These ones can never be satisfied with one woman.

Touchy

Why so clingy bro? Boys who keep touching their partners, cheeks, shoulder, thighs & try indulging in serious PDA are a big NO! There are things that are fine within the four walls. So much of touch can piss off any woman.

Chivalry

Knock on the door, pull a chair out, hold the door, offer help, be gentle and kind, be polite with people in need, are some basic etiquettes that have to be taught while growing up. Women like men with manners.

Social Filter

This might get embarrassing if you’re dating one. Someone who blurts out everything that’s on his mind without giving it a second thought. These people require social filters.

Full of Himself

I know I have mentioned a type before above. But it’s different here. These types are actually “FULL” of themselves. They do not care even if you’re breathing (Okay, too much!), they don’t care if you’re even present there. All they be doing is talk about themselves, think of themselves, plan things for themselves or what they like without keeping you in consideration. It’s like YOU DO NOT MATTER. And that’s annoying.

Timid

If that man isn’t a man of principles? He cannot be your man. He can never stand for a woman. You don’t need them. Period.

Compulsive Liars

They do one thing, you question them and there comes another lie from that dirt mouth. It’s may get disturbing after a while for you to deal with all the lies that come out naturally from their teeth.

Possessive…OVER Possessive!

Being possessive is cute at the time. But being over possessive about everything that you do is annoying. “Don’t do this, don’t wear this, don’t go here, don’t talk to him” says people who don’t have a life of their own. They’re buzzkills, BIG TIME!

Horny? Ok, PLEASE!!

Another one featuring all those men who like to get intimate in every possible situation and any given moment. No sense of time and place. And if you’re not around they look for alternatives like we all know we shouldn’t be getting indulged in. Kick these ones out right away!

Addicted to His Addictions

Lastly, someone who’s addicted to drugs and substances. Alcoholics would work if it’s occasional. Smokers too. Addictions can turn out a girl or anyone for that matter. It’s hard to keep them going along.

Traits that are deal-breakers from a women’s perspectives. At the end of the day, you want the best for you. Women don’t need to compromise with something just to be there. If you’re unhappy with any of the deal breaking traits, leave and stay happy. There’s definitely something good for everyone out there.

Experiencing problems with your periods because of hormonal imbalance? You’re at the right spot to know you might be dealing with this condition commonly known as PCOD or PCOS. What is PCOD/PCOS?

What is PCOD/PCOS?

Polycystic Ovarian Disorder or Syndrome fashionable popular as PCOD or PCOS. To begin with, there’s a difference between the two. PCOS is an endocrine system disorder whereas PCOD is a condition that arises due to hormonal imbalance. In PCOS, the production of higher levels of androgen hinders the development and releasing of eggs process. Wherein PCOD, the hormonal imbalance causes a pile of mature eggs that cannot be released resulting in the symptoms of the condition. The exact cause hasn’t been discovered but hormonal imbalance or hereditary plays a pivotal role.

Causes and Symptoms

Causes of this condition have not yet been determined. But with high levels of androgens, i.e. male sex hormones results in ovulation imbalance, acne breakout, and excess body hair growth. The symptoms, in the beginning, are mild. Here are a few symptoms:

  1. Acne Breakout

Sometimes PCOS or hormonal imbalance causes an increase in testosterone. This increases sebum and skin cell production. Which results in acne. The most affected areas are the lower half of the face such as cheek, chin, neck, chest and upper neck. Apart from PCOS or hormonal imbalance, there’s a bacteria, Propionibacterium that can result in acne and inflammation.

  1. Weight issues, more likely facing difficulty in losing weight

With the rapidly increasing body weight, there are a lot of other some severe disorders following you up. Few of them are Type 2 diabetes, High blood pressure, sleep apnoea and endometrial cancer and obesity on the edge. Not everyone who has PCOD is overweight. Not everyone has to lose weight.

  1. Excess body hair growth

Thicker and darker hair growth on parts of the body and thinning of hair on the scalp.

Increased level of androgens or male hormones results in excessive body hair growth. Although females do produce androgens an increased level can lead to hirsutism

  1. The irregularity of menstruation

Some women experience no periods at all while some bleed for days and months.

  1. Fertility problems in older women

The increase in androgen does not allow eggs to discharge that affects the fertility. It lessens the chances of pregnancy.

  1. Depression (Of course! Has to be there after all of this )

Oh with everything this comes handy after all the symptoms that one has to deal with. Rapidly increasing weight issues gradually take down an individual’s self-esteem and confidence to lead a healthy life and have options of leading a happy life. There are various other disorders that follow depression like anxiety, mood disorder etc.

Treatment of PCOD/PCOS (How exactly fitness cures PCOD)

To treat this, it is more important to diagnose and control insulin resistance than to suppress hyperandrogenism and ovulation induction. The treatment of PCOD aims at relieving and preventing long-term health problems. PCOD can be treated without any medication with some healthy lifestyle changes. Yes, you heard it right! It doesn’t require any medication. Neither allopathic nor homeopathic nor any ayurvedic medicines has to be consumed. All these women who have PCOD need to be aware of this. There’s no permanent cure to this. There is no magic pill to prevent you from this condition. We just need some healthy changes and adapt them to incorporate them into our regular routine.

  • Weight loss isn’t just the key to cure this. You must keep working out regularly and has to keep a watch on the numbers! Walking is an ideal exercise you may opt for. Turning yourself towards the gym can make a huge difference. For some, it gets even harder there. But hey, who said it’s going to be easy? You’ll only cherish it if it comes to you after a struggle. Keeping a track of losing weight can change a lot of things. The menstrual cycle gets a bit regular.

  • It’s the world’s first problem to avoid some tempting fast food. That’s the healthy change we’ve been talking about. Changing the way you nutrients can change the entire game for you. You should eat heart-healthy food that includes vegetables, nuts, fruits, whole grains, and beans. And you must avoid foods that contain saturated fats, i.e. fried food, cheese, and meat. The right diet can help you go a long way in dealing with PCOD. Including more fruits and vegetables in your diet and avoiding dairy-based products, sugar, jaggery, honey and refined cereals like Maida, sooji and white rice. Pick foods with a low glycaemic index such as wheat pasta, whole grain, brown rice, whole wheat etc.

  • Quit smoking as smoking increases the androgens level in the body. Women with PCOS are at the high risk of metabolic syndrome, which may be exacerbated by smoking. Smoking worsens the androgen levels and the metabolic profile in women with PCOS/PCOD.

  • Birth controlling pills to an extent does help women infertility and ovulation but it worsens the situation for the longer run. So, we here wouldn’t recommend. But for more knowledge over this point, women with PCOD/PCOS must consult a gynecologist.

This is somewhat in a nutshell, what every woman dealing with PCOD must know and follow. Consulting a gynecologist is a must for an early diagnose to start with the treatments to cure the symptoms. Remember, this condition can be treated but can’t be cured. All the best!
