All your warm woolens are out and like every year you think you don’t have enough winter clothes- right? But skipping the bath, applying moisturizer, and wearing layers of woolens are not the only precautions that you have to take. There are many more things that you must follow to stay fit and healthy this chilling season. The steps are easy and simple to follow.

Have seasonal fruits & vegetables
Every season comes up with its special fruits and vegetables and that is nature’s way of taking care of us. You will stay fit and fine with the consumption of these things. Winter is the season when you get lots of leafy vegetables and you must include them in your diet. These vegetables and fruits will build stronger immunity and give you a natural shine. Have everything from spinach to radish, carrots to cabbage, oranges to guavas, beet to turnips – all are important for healthy winter life. So, make a chart and have one type of fruit and vegetable daily for the whole week. That way, your body will extract the antioxidants and vitamins from all types of winter special fruits and vegetables.
Walk, run, or jog
Winter is the best time to walk, run, or jog for a longer period. In summers, you sweat a lot and get tired easily but thanks to the chilling weather, you feel the opposite in winter. So, take out your sports shoe and tracksuit and walk briskly run around, or simply jog in the park outside your home or terrace of your home. You will feel more energetic and healthier.
Tulsi is a perennial plant and if not in the summer season, you can practice its consumption at least in the winter season. It has Vitamin A, C, B6, calcium, magnesium, and zinc and that means all your cold-related illnesses will be cured. Have tulsi tea, tulsi soup, or simply di tulsi leaves in honey and chew it. Honey is rich in antioxidants and is free from fat and cholesterol. Also, honey is very effective in curing your winter health hazards like the common cold. Have herbal tea with honey and see the change. You can have honey in pancakes, toasts, oatmeal, yogurts, coffee, or cereals. Avoid too much of refined flours & sugar
Do you know that too much white sugar and flour will not only contribute to weight gain but can also hamper your immune system? Have momos or chowmein from the street-side stalls but once a month. Replace them with whole grains and natural sweeteners.
Plan a trip
In the winter season, your kids have winter vacation and you can arrange some leaves from your workplace. So, plan a trip anywhere and come back refreshed. Going to a new place or traveling is also an essential part of staying healthy and fit. Why? Because the same old daily life leads to monotony and that reflects in whatever job you do. Don’t forget water
Just because the weather outside is freezing doesn’t mean you should cut down your water intake. Staying hydrated is essential in all seasons. Carry a flask along at work and have lukewarm water. You will not feel thirsty but set a reminder every hour to drink a glass or half-glass of water. Always remember that water flushes out toxins in your body and that’s why you must not forget to drink water in winter too.
