There is a famous saying that “Be strong enough to let go and wise enough to wait for what you deserve.”
This proverb is a hopeful medicine when you are going through a break-up. When you were in a relationship with someone, there was new hope, excitement in love and romance, and everything about that person seemed cute and adorable. The world seems so much more colorful when your so-called soul mate is by your side and the same world turns grey when that soul mate leaves you.
The first few months or years for some seems to be a punishment. But please, don’t be harsh on yourself or curse that person. Instead, be thankful that the relationship ended because there are some sweet benefits that you can draw from that break-up. Calm down a bit and read the flip side of a break-up!
Freedom like Never Before
Let’s be honest and agree to the fact that – one is never free in real terms in a relationship. Your partner was perhaps ok with the fact that you were going out with your friends or deciding on certain goals but in the long run, these were the things which led to some bitterness in your relationship. But now he/she is no more a part of your life, all you can enjoy is Freedom in the truest sense. You can go on a long drive, return home late, eat the salads, pizza, or roll a joint without compromising, visit your favorite city, or bring a pet home. There would be no shrieking voice to stop you from living your life on your own terms – as simple as that.
Space like NASA
The physical and mental space that you enjoy after a break-up is commendable. If you have been in a live-in relationship, the wardrobe, bathroom cabinet, shoe rack, and the whole house would feel lighter. Sometimes, after a tiring day at work, all you want is silence and your own SELF which was initially impossible with the presence of your partner. But now all you have is space – so, utilize it in a great way. Perhaps you simply wanted to enjoy a relaxing Sunday at home with home-cooked food but your partner wanted to meet you – that’s the beauty of a break-up – you don’t have to act to be happy now!
Finally, There Would be No Acting
Oh! This is such a big sigh of relief – right? You don’t have to unnecessarily act that how much you like his/her friends or relatives who feel it is their birthright to drop at your place every now and then that too unannounced! There would be no one to eat away your peace of mind….you can now be safe on your holidays and weekends. You don’t have to think of the main dish, desserts, and other modes of entertainment for those awful bunch of people.
You Get Better Understanding of the SELF
You and only you are the most important person in your life and every other thing and people come later. In a relationship, you have understood the other person. But after a break-up, you gain more knowledge about the real kind of person you are. You come to learn more about your limits and strengths. And most importantly, you learn where you can happily sacrifice and where not! This understanding is very important to avoid more heartbreaks in the future. You start loving yourself more now!
The List of “What I Want in a Relationship” is Refined
Every break up is like a lesson from which you learn something. Every person is searching for something special for his/her partner and your list is simply refined now. Maybe the thrill, adventure, or romance was missing a bit in your last relationship. Now you know what all you want in your partner in a clearer way.
The Real Friends would Show Up
When you are going through a shining phase in your life, everyone would praise you, love you, and go crazy about you. But when you are hitting the low lanes of life, you would know who all your real friends are. The real or true friends would come close to you at this moment and built the lost courage and confidence in you again. So, treasure these friends!
Creativity May Shine Out
Love is sweet, beautiful, and amazing – true. Heartbreaks are pathetic, traumatic, and sour – period! Your heart is in pain and you can use this pain to narrate a novel, write some poems, compose a piece of music, or paint. After channelizing your pain or negative energy for a creative purpose, you are definitely going to thank this break-up phase!
Losing hope and positivity for a break-up is not a valiant idea. I know, understanding this thing at an early stage of break-up is a bit difficult. But when you calm down a bit, you would really understand these great benefits of your break-up. You won’t have any hard feelings then and would thank for that phase!
The world of cinema is a wide one and each and every country has a signature of its own. Our India produces the highest number of movies in the world. I am proud of the movies my country produces. There is some highly creative content that is found in our movies but due to low publicity or budget constraints, they don’t reach out to everyone. Maybe we are not technologically advanced in terms of Hollywood or in some ways we are too shy in portrayal but our movies are “no-nonsense” at all. I am saying this with conviction because I believe Bollywood is not the only benchmark to judge Indian Cinema. Over the years, I have come across many soul-stirring movies and some of them are jotted below.
Whenever you see the name of NFDC on a movie poster, you must expect something beautiful! NFDC didn’t shatter its wise audience this time too. Sarita Joshi plays the role of Gangoobai who dares to dream and how long she walks to fulfill that dream forms this excellent movie. Directed by Priya Krishnaswamy, this movie released in 2013 when most of the nation is praising Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani or Chennai Express. Made on a small budget, you would find a beautiful soul in this Hindi-Marathi movie which would leave you with a satiating smile on your face. Gangoobai lives in Matheran of Maharashtra (commendable job by the cinematographer here) and works as a domestic help to some well-off families.
One day she sees a print ad of a pretty saree and simply starts dreaming to buy that saree. But how would she manage to buy a designer boutique saree? She works day and night as a coolie, house help, and even bets on a horse race to earn that money. But the path is not easy! The dream that Gangoobai had in her heart may sound very laid back or childish to some of the privileged people. But what actually is a dream to someone who has no family or belongings at all? This movie would make you ruminate that it is very easy and simple to own people and love them without expecting anything in return. This movie would also teach you that when your dream shatters, something better than that dream arrives – you just need to have a pair of eyes to witness that opportunity.
This Bollywood movie released in 2010 and was directed by Vinay Shukla. It is one of those lovable anthology films where the theme is love and betrayal. Women’s sexuality and gender equality is what this film tried to project through the four short stories. It had some stellar actors like Boman Irani, Konkona Sensharma, Ila Arun, Arunoday Singh, Shahana Goswami, Tisca Chopra, Mahie Gill, Raima Sen, Rajpal Yadav, Prem Chopra, Shreyas Talpade, and etc. Unlike other movies in this list, this one is much lighter and commercial. Enjoy this well-knit stories on a relaxing weekend!
Barefoot to Goa
This is not only a movie but is a nostalgic ride. It would take you back to those ethics of a joint and nuclear family. Directed by Praveen Morchhale, this Hindi movie released in 2015. It is one of those very rare crowd-funded movies. An old lady in Goa passes her day and night hoping that someday her whole family consisting of a son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren would be united. She writes to them who stays in Mumbai and her daughter-in-law gleefully dumps those letters in the dustbin. The two grandchildren read these letters one day and learn that their grandma is ailing and decides to go barefoot to Goa (although not technically). It would make you yearn to revisit your grandparents, old lanes of your village, and most importantly would make you miss your childhood days when you didn’t fear any trials and tribulations at all!
The Last Lear
I never was a fan of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan truly. But this is the movie that I watched two times back to back and I was flabbergasted by the aura of Mr. Bachchan. There are very few movies where you don’t actually know who was the master – the director or the screen actor? This movie falls in that category. At some point, the barrier between real and reel vanishes, thanks to the plot. Some hefty Bollywood names were included in this English language movie like Shefali Shah, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal, and Divya Dutt along with notable actors like Jishu Sengupta and Prosenjit Chatterjee. It was released in 2008 and won 2 National Film Awards.
The master director Rituparno Ghosh beautifully presented a Shakespearean theater actor’s struggle to excel in the art of cinema acting. In the hindsight of the main plot where a film director urges a snobby theater actor to be a part of his movie, there is a powerful love story too between Shefali Shah and Mr. Bachchan. If you believe that Black or Piku was Amitabh Bachchan’s career best, you would have to reconsider after watching this movie.
Ship of Theseus
This offbeat Hindi film was directed by Anand Gandhi and released in 2013 and simply won the hearts of those movie-goers who are looking for something different in terms of plot execution. It had three stories that dealt with the Theseus’ paradox. The Greek philosopher Plutarch inquires whether a ship that has been restored by replacing all its parts remains the same ship – this forms the crux of the film.
The blind photographer who is marvelous at her job struggles to click a single iconic picture after her cornea transplant. A Jain monk who fought all his life to ban animal testing in the pharmaceutical industry is diagnosed with Cirrhosis and the only way out is to depend on those medicines made by the pharmaceuticals who tests on animals. A young stockbroker just got his kidney transplanted and learns about organ theft. What follows thereafter is life-changing! All these three plots would leave you with some uncomfortable questions about life!
This is one of the perfect movies that I have ever watched. The smart direction and smarter editing make this movie a must on your list. It released in the year 2009 and was the debut movie of Radhika Apte and second movie of Pink-fame director Aniruddha Roychowdhury. It went on to win 4 prestigious National Film Awards. Shantanu Moitra composed the soul-wrenching music for free. Rahul Bose and Sharmila Tagore worked in this Bengali movie for free. Can you imagine such an impactful movie with SRK or Bhaijaan who would charge millions? No…Never! Someone correctly said that the best things in life are free.
This is a movie which would leave a hope and despair both in your heart. This is a movie that would ache your heart but still, you would want to return to it again and again. It is perhaps like the wise Chivas or Champagne which you would relish forever!
The story surges through three types of love in three generations. Sharmila Tagore’s character fell in love with an unknown voice when Telephone was new to our world. She never asked his name and still, there was an unsaid comfort in that relationship. But one day suddenly that call stopped ringing. There is no expectation or anger in this love! The estranged couple Aparna Sen and Kalyan Ray still find solace in each other who separated due to growing ego. Rahul Bose and Radhika Apte know each other virtually through a chatting app. They also know each other socially but are unaware that they are meeting the same virtual person with whom they share a strange cord of love, understanding, romance, and happiness. Watch this movie and see how unconditionally magical love can be!
Memories In March
Directed by the very-talented Sanjoy Nag, this English language movie released in 2011. IMDB rates it 7.2/10 but I would personally want to mark it 9.5/10. Yes, it is that great a film. It won one National Film Award and was shown at the Pusan International Film Festival. This is a riveting story of a mother who comes to terms with her bereaved son’s hidden life. The characterization of the son is done with excellence. The character is introduced only through some letters and e-mails and you won’t feel the need of seeing the face – such is the impact of the script!
Siddharth works in an ad agency which wins an award and thus a party follows where he gets drunk too much. He meets with a fatal accident and his mom comes straight to the crematorium and later stays in the guest house where her son lived. She comes to know that her son was a homosexual and firstly she fumes at her son’s partner but later accepts him. They sob together for the loss of their most precious person in life and this intense subject is handled carefully by the director. You must not miss this brilliant movie if you are a lover of good cinema.
Produced by Priyanka Chopra, this Marathi movie released in the year 2016 and went on to win 1 prominent Dadasaheb Phalke award and 3 National Film Awards. With an immaculate impact, this movie obliges the anger, envy, humor, hatred, sorrow, regret and uncountable human emotions. The story is about the palpable relationship between a father and a son. How family binds you together in moments of dismay is the basic message of this film. A father never leaves his child alone when he/she is young. But when the child grows up and gets entangled in other priorities of life, the father is neglected. You would smile with tears in your eyes while witnessing this movie!
This is the first ever Marathi movie to cross the profit mark of Rs. 100 Crores. Released in the year 2016, this movie was a surprise for everyone from masses to classes, from movie maniacs to film critics. It was directed by Nagraj Manjule and he made sure that you won’t feel the need for a break (read intermission) for a good 1 and a half hours of the movie.
It is a simple love story where the boy is poor and the girl is rich. Cupid strikes and romance brews between them but in a small village of Maharashtra you simply cannot get away with just love – right? The age-old tale of power and financial status would overdrive love. The couple elopes and finds a place in Hyderabad where they learn other basics of life apart from love. Earning money and getting a roof becomes the motto of this couple who doesn’t give up. But years later when they have a child and have a proper home, revenge strikes back! The climax of the movie would leave you shattered and teary-eyed. Enjoy this classic love story!
IMDB rates it 7.9/10. Released in the year 2017, this Kannada movie was directed by Yogaraj Bhat and dealt with an interesting subject. The story revolves around a guy who has some medical complication and cannot cry. So, what can make him cry and understand how does it feel to cry? Of course LOVE! The director brilliantly divides the movie into four parts to make us understand the basic human emotion which is love. One of the best things about this movie is that the leading ladies are given something meaningful. Rather than just being a commercial object like in most of the movies. You would enjoy a great time watching this movie and learn something new about crying and laughing!
These soul-stirring movies would definitely make your richer and thus don’t delay in experiencing a whole new face of Indian Cinema!
Sleep is the golden chain that binds our health and our body together. The body is like a machine that needs rest after work. No machine cannot work non-stop and when you make a machine work incessantly it degrades soon. The same logic applies to our body. To stay fit and healthy, you should not only concentrate on a proper diet but also observe the sleeping hours and patterns. There is an old and famous saying that – A good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures for anything.
Many people tend to sacrifice their sleeping hours in the name of fulfilling their dreams. Some stay awake to work and earn, some stay up due to depression, and some stay up to complete another season. The reasons can be anything but this sleeplessness or not falling asleep in time leads to many diseases. Also, remember that a lack of deep and quality sleep is harmful to our hormones which diminishes our motivation for work and prepares the body to gain weight faster. So, for a fit mind and body, a proper sleep must be achieved.
Why should you aim for a quality sleep is explained below?
The hunger hormones are beautifully balanced with a proper sleep. You must have noticed that when you stay awake after midnight, you tend to get hungry. There is a hormone called Ghrelin that signals your body to eat more and it is connected to sleeplessness. There is another hormone called Leptin that signals your body when you overeat. But when you are not sleeping and the body is tired, the body produces more of Ghrelin and less of Leptin that makes you over-eat!
Averts Weight Gain
Insulin is the master storage of hormones. If you don’t sleep well, the body cannot use this insulin properly. If this functioning of insulin is interrupted, fat gets stored in the body. But a proper sleep regimen would not allow such thing and the insulin level would be regulated averting fat. Apart from that when you are stressed or depressed, your body is actually tired and this leads to the production of cortisol. These cortisol stores calories as fat. So, to control your weight, always target a proper routine of sleep.
The lack of sleep is equal to being drunk. Without a proper sleep, the brain cannot make a sound decision and there would be lack of clarity in the mind. This confused state of mind then affects your work life and also eating habits. You tend to eat more snacks in this state of sleeplessness that would further promote weight gain. But with a proper sleep, you achieve better mental and emotional well-being. If you are in a happy state of mind, you are definitely going to make better choices for yourself.
Fruitful Workout Sessions
People work out to stay healthy or fit. If you are hitting the gym regularly, you have to practice a routine of sleeping. Because your body muscles go through strain and to give some comfort to your muscles sleeping plays an important role. Inversely, if you want to give your 100% effort while working out, your body should sleep well.
When you sleep well and in time, your body is prepared to recover from any kind of ailment faster. The cytokine is a hormone that is produced in the body while one is asleep and it helps the body to fight off infection. Those people who have sleeplessness often suffer from cold, flu, or digestive diseases.
Apart from all these facts, a good sleep also keeps your skin glowing thus helping you to look younger. Checking all these important facts, now you can be sure that a proper sleep to maintain a fit body is not at all a myth. Now, you must remember that not only the quantity but the quality of sleep is also important. The requirement of sleep may vary from body to body and from age to age. For example, the newborn babies require at least 16-18 hours of sleep while the teenagers require 9-10 hours of sleep. Optimally, 7-8 hours of sleep is sufficient to maintain a healthy mind and body. Is it that difficult?
A thriller is a very well-structured story and someone with a killer attitude can only pen it down. Many of you find solace in the haunting Hollywood thrillers. But the movie directors in India have also tried their hands in this genre and made some cult classic. Primarily, our nation wants to see more of romance and that’s why every second movie is either a romantic-comedy, romantic drama, or romantic tragedy. But, really, the quality of thriller movies have improved a lot in the past two decades and here is proof of that.
Have a look at these dozens of Indian thriller movies which would make your grey cells work some more.
As the tagline of the movie says, it was truly a “Mother of a Story”. A pregnant woman lands in Kolkata in the quest of finding her missing husband. She files a police complaint and puts everyone from the Police Department to RAW members into a muddle. Who was her husband? A terrorist in the disguise of a Software Engineer? As the plot unveils, you are surely going to be flabbergasted with the raw narrative, stupendous cinematography, and the fast-paced script. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, this movie released in the year 2012 and India is still to come up with a thriller better than this one!
2013 saw a massive spy thriller movie directed by the great Kamal Hassan which was made in Tamil and Hindi languages. IMDB rates it 8.4 – quite a high score among the Indian movies. Many eminent film critics said that it is a spy thriller of international standards. The best thing about this movie is that none of the characters are what they seem and that’s what holds your attention. A woman married to a classical dancer is having an affair with her boss who has links with the terrorists. Now there are some grey shades in her husband which is what you will see!
Directed by the supremely talented Nishikant Kamat, this movie released in 2015 and it is an official remake of Malayalam movie of the same name directed by Jeetu Joseph. It is a gripping tale of a father protecting his family. There’s a bad guy in the movie who is the spoilt brat of the IGP of Goa and he goes missing. The Police suspect the girl’s family and the plot is all about designing lies in front of the Police and that is done stupendously well. What makes this one of the best movies in the past decade is the heart-in-mouth moments, engrossing climax, and the stellar performance of the lead actors. This movie has been remade in various other languages like Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Sinhala.
Shankar is a renowned director whose body of work is marvelous. This time he came up with another heart-winning plot named “I” that released in 2015. The film tells the story of a bodybuilder turned supermodel, played by Vikram, who after being deformed, and exacts revenge upon those who were responsible for his quandary. The lead actor Vikram nailed the role beautifully. The technical aspects, makeup, and of course the pace of the movie would keep you hooked until the end.
IMDB gives it 8.1 but you may give it a full 10/10. Yes, this movie is so complete in every frame. A powerful thriller plot that is superbly balanced with dramatic background music and raunchy dialogues would never find a “Delete” button in your life for sure. Directed by National Award winning director Srijit Mukherjee, this movie was released in 2011. It tells the story of an anonymous serial killer who leaves Bengali poems at the death-spot of the victim. A middle-aged suspended IPS officer is called upon to solve the case along with a young officer. What happens next would leave you in splits!
This is a Kannada movie directed by Pawan Kumar that released in the year 2013. IMDB rates this romantic psychological thriller 8.4. The plot revolves around a man who is suffering from insomnia. He is tricked into buying a drug named Lucia that would cure his disease. But this drug makes all his desires come true in his dreams. The effect is so palpable that the lines between reality and fantasy get blurred. One must watch it gauge how far imagination can run!
Neeraj Pandey – today a respectable and reliable name in Bollywood debuted with this movie. This movie of 2008 was path-breaking in many ways. Bollywood was breathing happily in rom-coms, love stories, and sleazy comedies, but this movie made with a sprinkle of nationalism brought a new wave. Neeraj Pandey continues to make movies of this new genre till today. How a common man brings the whole nation to a standstill (in a positive manner) is what you would see in this movie.
So, if you are one of those people who has lost the faith in Indian cinema (especially Bollywood), it is time to change your views. These are some of the best thriller movies made over the past two decades. Well, the list would be endless if all the amazing thrillers from regional Indian cinema were brought. But for the time being watch these wonderful movies and have a great time.

Unplug from Normal Life
The so-called normal life of getting up with the morning alarm, preparing for the client meeting, presenting Excel for CEO, picking up kids from school, visiting the bank, etc. eat up too much of our energies! The whole week is spent in routine when you behave responsibly and always try to shine in personal and professional tasks! The weekend is the right time to simply relax and forget all the plans for your future. This weekend simply unplug yourself from that Normal Life and indulge your partner in this task. Unplugging from normal life actually means – switching off the phone, laptop, TV, and sending kids off to granny’s place. Play crossword puzzle, have breakfast in your bed, order pizza and desserts online, sleep until you are pleased, indulge into creative work you love to do like painting, pottery, writing, or acting. Go mad with your partner – enact the favorite scenes together from your favorite movies and record them to enjoy later. On Monday, you would wake up with some lovely memories that you made in these two days.
Cozy Cottage in the Lap of Nature
You can plan to go somewhere in the lap of nature, away from home and office with your partner and create some everlasting memories together. Any hill station or valley would be suggested as they are closer to Nature. Book a cozy cottage to stay in. In the daytime, explore the nearby areas, eat local food, see how the local people spend their day, sit for fishing, enjoy the clear sky, breathe in the fresh air, see the local art and crafts, gather souvenirs from that place. In the evening return to your cottage and sit near the fireplace to talk to your partner, have a bath together, sip in some wine, enjoy food, and relish the silence all around.
Beach & Waves
When you are tired and stressed, you need some Vitamin SEA! Hit the beaches with your spouse and spend some lovely time there. You can plan to propose your sweetheart all over again while relaxing at the beach. It would be really fun. Enjoy the lavish variety of seafood, drink cool cocktails, and don’t forget some beach adventure sports! The thrill of love and romance would be back with this sizzling romantic gateway! In the night, you may choose to walk on the beach and simply witness the shining moon in the arms of your lover. Isn’t that truly romantic?
Overnight Boat Trip
Book a chartered boat and enjoy the company of your lover on an overnight boat trip. Renting a boat for a full day and night – what would you do? See the waves, enjoy the cool breeze, rejoice the candlelit dinner, and talk your heart out now. This is the moment when you are miles away from your home, office, colleagues, friends, relatives, kids, parents, and everything else that captures your mind all through the week. So, you have enough space and time to really cross all kind of communication gap and come closer to each other.
Midnight Biking & Adventure
There’s something magical at the midnight hours. The thrill and adventure to do something crazy right at or after 12 A.M. are always special because the whole world is sleeping or preparing to sleep. The roads are clear, the air seems like less polluted, and there is a beautiful silence. On Friday or Saturday night take your sweetheart out for a lovely bike ride. Share one ice-cream, relish the roadside tea, hog the dhaba food, and talk to strangers who are enjoying a bonfire.
These weekend ideas are romantic and give that much-needed break to you and your partner. Let the oxygen of romance breathe into your relationship this weekend so that you start another week with new energy.
We all work hard and earn money for a better standard of living and to fulfill our basic necessities. At the month-end, we sit down and calculate the profit we have made and then lay out a plan where to invest or how to utilize the money. Everyone may not jot these things down in an excel sheet but in the hindsight of mind, this calculation is always playing. There is a certain rent to pay, electricity bills and telephone bills to be cleared, savings for the future, expenditure on sudden illness, spending on certain gifts for certain occasions, etc. This is a mundane life! Sometimes, you must be feeling lazy or uninterested in everything that is going around you. That’s the time my friend to take a break, go somewhere, and feel that there is still life left in this life.

The world-renowned chef Thomas Keller once said that “A recipe has no soul. You as the cook must bring soul to the recipe.” This is the only reason why one should never stop experimenting with food. When you see the same old monotonous things are followed, you get bored – right? The same thing applies to food also. The same old recipe or way of cooking cannot bring any thrill to the table. To break away the conventional types, here the recipe for orange fish would be covered today.
The year 2017 witnessed a heart-warming or soul-stirring movie named “Machher Jhol” which was all about the relationship between a chef and his mom. On his return to his homeland after 13 years, he is challenged by his ailing mom to cook the same fish curry he cooked as a teen. In this quest, he discovers a new recipe and in fact reinvent himself.
This unique Orange Fish recipe was shared in this movie and became quite popular among those who are open to experience experimental food recipes.
Fish, in general, carry a pungent smell but once deep-fried and cooked with other spices – there is nothing tastier than that! This combination of Orange and Fish sounds really weird – but that’s what romantic about this recipe which you must try once!

In a separate pan, heat some oil and add ginger in grated or paste form. You have to keep frying this ginger until the raw smell goes away.
Now add the chopped tomatoes to this preparation which will bring the required color.
Now, you have to add the turmeric, chili, cumin, and coriander powder and stir for a few minutes.
Let the tomatoes become soft. But keep stirring so that the mixture doesn’t stick to the pan or get burnt.
Pour a cup of water to this mixture and boil for 5 minutes.
Add the sugar and salt as per your taste and boil for 2 minutes.
Now, put in the golden fried pieces of fish and cover the pan with a lid.
Let it simmer for some time (7-9 minutes) till the spices enter every inch of the fish.
Keep checking in between and add water to maintain the consistency.
Once the fish is cooked well, it’s time to add the fresh orange juice.
Put the slit green chilies and garam masala powder to the gravy and simmer for hardly 3 minutes.
Remember once you have added the fresh orange juice, you cannot simmer for a long time as that would deviate the taste.
Garnish with some curry leaves and slices of orange.
The fish is now ready to be served with some hot rice.
A plate of rice with simply stunning orange fish is equal to bliss. Try it sometime and don’t forget to share the recipe with your friends or relatives.
There is a famous saying that “No love is greater than a mom’s love and no care is greater than a dad’s care.” It is one of the best moments of life when you make your parents smile. But with age, many things change and that is the law of life. At a certain age, you may feel that your parents are not understanding you and vice-versa. Maybe you don’t feel like calling them or returning home just to avoid any banter with them. Not only teenagers but adults also face this challenge at some point in their life. Career change, lack of relaxation, health issues, insurance premium, loans, EMI, dreams, aspirations, etc. – there are too many factors that cause a bump in this beautiful relationship.
With a few simple ways, you can mitigate this problem from your life. Read below:
Treat them as Fellow Adults and not Parents
A lot of teenagers and some grown-ups complain that their parents don’t treat them like an adult. You have to understand that your age difference would always remain the same with them and thus you would always remain a kid to them. But, you have to help them let you grow up. Treat them like your fellow friends or acquaintances and things would get better. If you start practicing this, they would finally understand that you have grown up.
Nothing can beat the tonic of laughter when it comes to feeling easy in any relationship. Make a habit of sharing nice jokes, reading out a funny e-mail, or narrating a meme would be suggested. There would always be some amount of stress in life (both you and your parents) and humor helps to alleviate that. Remember that if you can laugh together, you are definitely doing ok!
Share Your Problems
There cannot be anyone else in this world who can understand you better than your parents. Even when they know that you are wrong, they would try to support you because of the unconditional love they have for you. This logic would also apply here when you feel that they don’t understand you. Don’t keep silent or keep sulking in a corner, instead, share whatever is bothering you. With due respect to them, narrate which are the problems that are bothering you. If your mom or dad calls you in the daytime which hampers your professional performance, you must share that challenge with them.
Seek Opinion Only When You Require
Sometimes, you ask your parents “what to do” in certain situations. Well, that is a way of seeking their permission or letting them know that you are still not capable of taking your own decisions. From selecting the color of the car to buying the living room furniture – you are capable enough as an adult to go choose what suits your taste! Parents would always want the best things for their child and in case they are providing a piece of advice, smile and look at it but always keep the final decision to yourself without any guilt.
Solve Your Personal & Financial Crisis on Your Own
As a grown-up adult, you should be fully responsible for yourself. Yes, of course, you need your parents for an emotional support but seeking help from them to solve your personal or financial crisis would not be a great idea. Somewhere, you would also be proud of yourself to deal with your own challenges. This would boost your confidence and your parents would also be proud of you.
Look out for Common Interests
The common interest can be anything like traveling, biking, hiking, fishing, reading, movie-watching, shopping, baking, dancing, singing, etc. Always look out for shared interests to spend some more quality time with them. When you share a common interest in some kind of activity, you naturally come closer to them. If your parents love to visit historical places, go with them, because who knows you may end up loving history too. Similarly, you can introduce your parents to Netflix and you never know, you would end up spending all the weekends watching Prime Videos together!
Always be Grateful
To sustain any kind of relationship, gratitude plays an essential role. You may not like a certain habit of your parents but you simply ignore the fact that they are the reasons behind your life. So, don’t miss any small to big opportunity to appreciate their efforts as a parent. When you thank more for the good things, better things materialize.
Communication in a relationship is like the oxygen. Without proper communication, the relationship dies and thus, use these very simple methods in your daily life and improve your relationship with your parents.

Waking up early means, you would not be late for your assignments. This would give you time to prepare and eat your breakfast properly without any rush. If you snooze your morning alarm, you are more likely to skip the most important meal of the day i.e., breakfast and tend to starve or overeat later. Both these situations lead to an unhealthy diet system which would be harmful in the long run.

Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier every week and over a period of time and see the magic!
