New Delhi is the capital of India and thus you will find people from all other Indian regions here easily. Thus, to accommodate people of every part, you will find joints that serve PAN Indian food or specializes in a certain regional cuisine. If you are looking out for cheap and delicious regional food, you can go to Dilli Haat or go to the state houses (Andhra Bhawan, Banga Bhawan, etc.). But the real Delhi kinda food is Chhole Kulche, Rajma Chawal, Chhole Bhature, Dahi Bhalla, Aloo Tikki, Gol guppa, and chaats of various types. Kolkata is a true food lover’s paradise. The Kathi roll that is now famous in many metro cities was born here during the British Raj. The authentic Biryani came to Kolkata through Wazir Shah of Lucknow. The biryani lovers can go to Aminia & Arsenal and enjoy the Kolkata special biryani with one whole potato and egg. Fish in fried and gravy forms are the best here. The variety of street food from fritters (potato, banana flower, soybean, mango, mix vegetable, brinjal,etc.) to jhal-muri (puffed rice), haleem, fuchka (gol gappe), etc. are lip-smacking. Biryani is one of the most famous food here that is a mix of Andhra, Turkish, and Mughlai cuisine. Go to Bawarchi for Mutton Biryani and stop at Shadab for Chicken Biryani. Sarvi serves the unconventional Chicken and drumsticks biryani – don’t miss that. You can also try other amazingly delicious recipes like keema samosa, lukhmi, sheer khurma, and paaya.

This is another place just like Kolkata and Delhi where you will find a variety of regional food apart from their flavor. Vada pav and pav bhaji are the two authentic dishes of Mumbai along with lots of Marathi cuisine like Aluvadi, Sabudana Vada, Bhakarvadi, Puran Poli, Misal Pav, Thaipeeth, and Pithale. Also, if you are a fan of Parsi cuisine, then, Mumbai will serve you right with its Sali Boti, Dhansak, etc.
